The REC is responsible for safeguarding the rights, safety, and well-being of research participants and for overseeing research conducted under the University to ensure compliance with ethical principles, institutional regulations, applicable laws, and internationally recognized standards.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">The Research Ethics Committee (REC) is vested with the authority to review, approve, endorse, monitor, and oversee research activities in order to minimize risks, maximize anticipated benefits, and protect the autonomy and confidentiality of research participants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #3366ff;\"><strong>1.
